please elaborate on how i can use sudo and launch the installer. thanks

i have been trying to install filemaker server connector which needs root access. i enabled root user and logged into it for the install but the installer still asks to login as root. is there anyway of forcing the installer? is there something else i can do to give the installer "root" access?
