Yea it is. When its in the computer it doesn't even recognize its there. I can't use disk utility or any thing because it doesn't show up. I'm about to give up. There isn't anything special about the drives that come with the Macbook is there? I've replaced drive in my Macbook pro and my sons...

Didn't work. I have installed OS 10.5.8 on one of the new disk and transferred all the files to it. Now i just hope when i put it in the computer it works.

Yea i have the original drive in now and it works fine. I'm trying to move some files to get more HD space.

I'm thinking it has to be a hardware issue. But it doesn't make sense that the original disk works but none of the others will. My son has the white one i upgraded it with no problems.
