    problems overwriting text?

yes, exactly, and it's just happened again, in Mail, and took ages to stop. I had to put in a hard return to be able to type any more. I really don't think it's related to typing speed, and I have checked and rechecked all my trackpad and accessibility settings to see if they are causing the...

    problems overwriting text?

Oh ha ha ha that's absolutely hilarious. Or just rude, depending on how you look at it. Accidentally hitting the trackpad and highlighting some text would be one thing, but that's unlikely to be what is really happening, since the final letter *continues* being replaced after I click elsewhere...

    Safari Keychains

Thanks for your reply, but if I delete that folder, won't I simply lose Safari? My apologies if that's a ridiculous thing to ask. I guess the kind of help I was hoping for would explain how I might go about reconciling my log-in name with my user name. For example, let's say my log in name is...

    Safari Keychains

Whenever I'm using Safari, I get (very often!) the pop-up asking for a password to access my Keychain. I would be HAPPY to provide this, but there is a mixup in who Safari thinks I am and who I 'really' am when I log in to my computer; in other words the name it pops up is NOT my log in name...
