thats all well and good, but what if you want to turn off your monitor while you download something when you are in bed? am i missing something here?

Thanks mate, but wouldnt it be easier to have a switch in the monitor ?? will have a go at that now

i have a 20inch imac, just brought it, all is good, boot camp works good, had trouble with the keyboard, the number pad makes xp crash, but i think its a driver problem. You need a new mouse for xp, but other than that its a good buy, i got mine for 1100 pounds

I have a 2ghz imac, and cannot find a way to turn off the monitor. I know how to set the sleep for the monitor, but want a command to force the monitor to sleep Thanks
