how do i switch the screen off

is there any way to make it so when you close the laptop it does nothing to the laptop but turn off the screen. i like to have my laptop running when my monitor is closed :( ( i like to have AIM and downloads going overnight without having to keep my screen open)

it won't connect back to the main access point when it disconnects :(

yah.. it's weird it seems like whenever a new network pops up it just disconnects me :(

ahh i still get the same problem :( it keeps disconnecting... oh yah is there a way to make it so when you shut your screen it doesn't go to sleep it just stays the same

i have the motorola v3c(verizon) and on my PC i was able to do obex file transfer but i couldn't find anyway to do it on my macbook.. is there any to? thanks :)

so far doesn't seem like the laptop has been acting up... i'll try to AIM on overnight to see if changes :)

oh my access point has WPA and WPA2 but I would prefer WEP for ease... i don't really care much for security haha. i just cant figure out why it keeps disconecting me

oh it was WPA .. that probably means i need to swtich my router and my access point to WPA.. should i use WPA or WPA2.. my router which i rarely access the wireless with is WEP still as well as my access piont

i tried using the WAP using settings... WPA-PSK encryption type (TKIP) and i put in my passphrase.. then when i tried loggin on my mac it didn't worK :( i did WAP personal

how do i do that ? sorry i just switched to Mac about 3 days ago and barely know anything advance :(

alright thanks i'll try using the $ first and if the problem keeps happening... i'll try switching to WPA EDIT i tried the $ thing and it didn't work
