Hello all,
Yesterday I installed Gnome and managed to get it working. Now my question is this: Can I install anything that is available at gnome.org or should I just work with the stuff that is available through fink ?
So far, I've installed AbiWord and would like to have a spreadsheet...
I'm trying some unix software in xdarwin and I'm wondering how can I remove a software that I tried but that doesn't do what I want so I want to remove it.
Whats the best method to remove any unwanted software if I'm using xdarwin and did the install with fink?
Later,
Eric
I installed freeciv yesterday and when I try to launch the civserver I receive this message:
dyld: civserver can't open library: /sw/lib/libreadline.4.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Hmmm... can't seem to find the right package with fink in order to install this lib. Anyone...
I deleted everything and then reinstalled by following the guide at macosxhints.com.
Everything is working properly now!!
Cool.
Now I got to find some other nice and useful software to install! :)
I've get all the stuff using fink by using the command dselect. One thing is I never installed Xfree86 since by using fink I received a package Xfree86-base.
Is it better if I delete the sw folder that was made by installing fink. Then I get the binary and install xfree86. Then reinstall fink...
Well I tried fink tonight and installed gimp. All seems to have gone correctly. But now I can't seem to launch gimp.
I open terminal and write gimp. Is this ok?
I receive this text:
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
