Is Java Jdk Compatible?

Hii everyone,I am new to this forum and I would like to ask a question.I am currently doing a mobile app development course in a Toronto based institution. As a part of the course I've been trying to download the Java JDK 1.8.0_111 version, but it doesn't run properly. Is the Java JDK specific to certain versions of windows? I am using Windows 8 and I think that it may not be compatible with the version. Any ideas on this would be great.Thanks.

You are in the wrong place. The title of our forum is ‘macosx’ . This forum is all Mac OS which runs on Apple computers (and iOS for our mobile devices that are made by Apple) NOT Windows and all the versions that run on a windows machine.
