    Sounds familiar. I bought a new 3G iPod last June. After the first few days' use, it became a bore: unresponsive buttons, random power-downs despite fully charged. In the end, it was just unresponsive, full-stop. Resetting worked for me a few times, but I was forced to do it almost every day...

    Apple acquired PowerComputing, probably the most successful clone manufacturer. I guess it was done probably to kill the licencing agreement without getting bogged down in complex legal issues.
