I am really new to OSX, but I really want to start off by custom installing OSX and move the swap file to its own partition. I haven't done anything in the terminal yet and don't know where to begin. Do you cut and paste these lines of code? I assume I am way off here...? Please help!

Yeah, I thought it is best to keep personal data on a smaller seperate partition. So, it is ok to just have OSX on it's own partition and then an apps partition for any 3rd party music software, games, adobe stuff, etc.? (kind of sensing mixed answers...) This is how I do it on my soon to be...

Is it a good idea to partition your hard drive when use osX? If you had a 40 gig drive what would you recommend? Can you use the os disk to partition? What do you really benifit from doing so? Is it best to keep the OS as isolated as possible form the rest of your apps, files etc. like with Windoz?

Anyone with an ibook, what external speakers do you use with it, if you use it at home? I asked about the Apple Pros in the hardware forum, but no one sounds all that impressed with them. I thought these were half decent for not having a sub.

They sound bad? I thought they were pretty good... I have some decent Sony headphones, but I still want a setup at home, I don't need to be plugged into the Matrix all the time...:D

Thanx for the input! I am leaning towards the combo ibook! It is a little more affordable and I can then add more RAM! As far as console emulation goes are the roms cross platform, does anyone know? Will my PC roms work for MAC in other words? Please say yes...!
