Command-clicking a navigation button in Finder's toolbar will open the target in a new window. Option-clicking will open the new window & close the current one.

You can have multiple colors/sizes for Terminal windows (haven't tried transparency) by setting up the window how you want it, then choosing Save and selecting Main Window. Then when you want to use that window again, dbl-click the file and terminal will open it.
