    xserve drive module

Well the hard drives are regular hard drives. I installed a 250 GB drive, as long as you set it to cable select, the xserve won't complain. I mixed and matched drives on different machines and never had any problems. As for the drive modules, I have a drive module that was taken apart and...

    xserve drive module

I have an xserve (g4, not the new g5's) with one hard drive. There are 3 slots remaining. Does anyone know where I can buy the necessary hardware to install additional hard drives into the empty drawers? Apple seems to be selling the complete drawers with hard drives. I already have...

    Which OS are you?

I was as truthfull as possible and got debian. Whats funny is that the description they have for debian is 100% on the money as far as my personality goes. (Debian says: People have difficulty getting to know you. Once you finally open your shell they're apt to love you"

    distributive build and xcode

I did try your suggestion on building fire, but it doesn't distribute the build. I have on the server xcode configured on high priority to accept builds and on the client I have enabled to distribute the build. The server shows up in the list of available computers.

I'm running a proxy server for a small network of PCs running Windows. The proxy server is an xserve running 10.3. The xserve is set up and runs correctly, but I would like to know what kind of virus protection I can use to filter worms and viruses before they even get to the windows...

    window resizing

resizing windows was horrible since os x came out. I thought by now they would have an option to make it either smooth like in windows xp or outlined resizing.

Want to see an opensource app for Mac...?

www.leapware.com this is windows based ftp client, but one of the best out there. Very good gui. Also, there isn't many good irc clients out there that are free. mIRC for windows is by far the best. That is my vote. A nice free ftp client and a nice free irc client.

    window resizing

Will anything be made to the way windows are resized in OS X? It is absolutely horrible. Its not smooth at all. Compared to windows XP or 2k. Resizing windows in MS is smooth and continuous. On OS X it jerks and you to pause for it to update to see where the position of the window is...If...

re: smb.conf changes to default config

When I modify smb.conf as root and restart the smb, I notice that the changes I make are overwritten. In otherwords, If I add a share, restart smbd, and look at smb.conf again, my changes are not there. I have permission to write to the file. Changes stay when I don't restart smbd. What...

    window resizing

I understand what you're saying, but OS X lacks many features especially for more advanced users. The resizing "feature" you said is good for first time users that have a problem with mouse coordination. I never had problems with window resizing in windows or linux as you described. The idea...

    window resizing

I've tested window resizing and moving on various macs and its slow on all of them. The moving is ok, but resizing is horrible. My mac is a duel 1ghz w 1gb of ram using radeon 9000 graphics. I don't think its the hardware...its the software. I was actually expecting more from OS X...
