    Larger iPhone screens?

If there's no particular urgent need to get one that's newer now, what harm will waiting for a few months do? An updated model seems to sprout about once every 9-10 months...

    worst and best flight

Best... any where I've been going to some fantastic places and/or people, to places I've actually wanted to go. I can't pick just one. :) Worst... one where I was denied boarding (ask me around a beer some day in the real life, not going to elaborate more online about that). Also the last...

    Herve's Bar & Grill

A Jameson for you on the house :) Been a while indeed. What's everyone up to? I'm kind of doing some slow apartment archeology to unearth the past fiveish years of my living... while hoping to get a bit bigger place soon. With less stuff of course.

    Easter is coming!

Eostre's celebrations are older than christianity, and "coincidentally" Easter in English derives from Eostre. Plus Passover, which also is celebrated close to Easter, happens to be older than christianity... My usual Easter celebrations means ignoring it. But there are a few Easters that have...

Creating a standard account from an administrator account

That way should work. It's definitely the most logical way to convert your account when you've been using it for a while. Little Snitch etc should keep working just fine. Worst case, if some app or preference would sometimes need access to admin privileges, you can then authenticate as your new...

Teenager knows how to use the CLI to change password, and access my system

No, FileVault isn't what protects everyone from accessing your stuff. It just encrypts everything in your home folder. Which can be a desirable thing (like for you here), but you also will want to make sure your files are backed up somewhere else. Just in case. But to keep him from...

    opinion on Samsung Galaxy S5

Should we feel insecure and threatened also by the other competition? Like if or when Nokia doubles its 40 megapixel camera phones to 80 megapixel cameras, or when Jolla (the engineers who left Nokia and wanted to do their own thing) might some day have a battery life that's better than Motorola...

    Electronic wall calendar / organiser

iPad (and mini) does what you want. :) Find a way/system/case to allow you to mount it where it's more useful if you like it on the wall also for cooking/watching movies/studying/other items too and not just a calendar. (Cheapest and easiest would be to use some velcro tape behind your iPad or...

    Turn off Mac at night?

My best OS X uptime of a few years was interrupted by having to move a desk (a few times, so several over a year of uptime). So machine on 24 7 for me, but if it's a work machine, ideally it's just screen locked, display to sleep, and everything else runs normal under it.

Mackeeper moved my files to trash and put back option is greyed out?

It for some reason moved those folders to trash; the beautiful (or ugly) thing is that when those app support folders are missing and an app is launched, a new folder and its contents will be generated to replace the missing ones in the original location. So when you opened an app that missed...
