Heres the deal about getting OS X.1 on Saturday from a reseller.

I was at Circuit City tonight and discussed the 10.1 update with a not-so-knowldgeable salesman. He said that "the Apple Rep" had just been in and installed 10.1 on the iMacs (in fact, all I think he did is make them start up in X instead of 9... they still had 10.0.3 on them). He didn't know...

    a little off topic....

Piece of advice... before you "mount" the image, I'd make sure that I locked it (in the "Get Info" dialog). When DP4 was around, if you double clicked and mount the image before you burnt it, somehow part of the disk was lost (the UFS portion, maybe). At least, that's what I read. Good...

5G64 (GM) identical to shipping cd?

Here's my experience (And it's not a whole bunch ;) ). Much of the process of making 10.1 was removing the debuging code from 10.0. In otherwords, that's where all the speed improvements came from. Additionally, I don't think that you can remove debugging code without changing the build...

    Quicktime API with Cocoa?

The past 6 weeks or so, I've been working on accessing hardware via the Quicktime API from C code in classic. Now that Mac OS X came out, I'm thinking about seriously developing an application. In my learning Cocoa, I've noticed hardly any mention of Quicktime anywhere. The most advanced...
