I experienced the same problem with the USB cable to the W350.
After selecting File Transfer Mode, no volumes showed up on the desktop
(despite an email from Sony Ericsson saying this should work).
However, using BlueTooth File Exchange worked; I was able to copy all my photos from the W350...
