I am looking for an alternative to running Windows Operating Systems just to do asp development for work. You guys aren't helping much. I have no other choice.

    Active Server Pages on Apache?

I've been trying to find out the best way to run active server pages on my MacOSX Apache server. The only tool I've found is iASP from Halcyon Software. Unfortunately, I've had no luck installing iTools or iASP so far. They appear to install, but I can't seem to get to the configuration page.

Verizon Residential DSL and OS X

I have no idea, but I do have an extra verizon modem in the box that I'd sell cheap. [Edited by dfbills on 03-29-2001 at 06:03 PM]

Verizon Residential DSL and OS X

I'm using the PPPoet in the Hardware BaseStation now and it is working fine. Although I'm now thinking of getting Road Runner because it is much faster for the money...

Can Disk Utility fix OS X startup volume, or will I have to use Norton Beta for now?

I seem to be getting a number of disk errors as well. A couple times, they have been quite serious.

    dev tools in os x?

They are not included. You need to be a registered Apple developer to get them at this point. Or you can use the hack at macaddict.com to copy the tools from Darwin.

Start up disk issue with OS 9

You need to use the System Disk Control panel under OS 9. It should be in a folder call MacOS9 on your OS X drive.

    Aargh my eyes !

It is rather dim, isn't it? I think the anti-aliasing looks really blurry on the LCD. On a CRT, it looks amazing!

    No terminals...

I just tried resetting the Host Name and Server names back to locahost. No dice. Any ideas out there? Why can't I open an active terminal? Telnet access does not work either...

    No terminals...

I've noticed that this only happens with my setup at work. Both G4 and powerbook exhibit the problem. When the powerbook is set up for home, I don't have this problem. They are both connecting via DHCP, but I'm not sure what the difference is...

    stupid dialogs?

I'm not so sure about that.

    stupid dialogs?

The greyed out action comes from the filename extensions... sometimes you need to change them for the apps to recognize. I've noticed this- very annoying.

    Lack of Disk Optimization Tool...

Having installed OS X Beta on my PowerBook with a single partition, I've found that I can not optimize the drive any more. The OS 9 tools report "special" files that cannot be optimized. Just an observation..

    No terminals...

Every once in a while I'll load terminal and every shell I open will just say [process completed]. I can't figure out why it is doing this... any ideas? The only way I can get a shell is to call /bin/sh and then I can't load a tcsh! [Edited by dfbills on 09-26-2000 at 11:22 AM]

    OS X disk related errors

You can definitely fix those errors with Disk Doctor, DiskWarrior, or TechTool. Done it!

Well since, control-D typically means logout.. we're talking about the same thing.

    Future hardware requirements?

I'd expect it to stay the same. In fact, it runs much better with 256-512 M of ram and more drive space for swap files.
