I had taken the computer to an Apple Certified Repair Center some months back with the EXACT same symptoms (crashing and a cursor which had a shadow hatch-box around it) - they found nothing wrong with the hardware, claimed it was a software problem, and sent me on my way. I have an iMac G4 running OS 10.3.9. I have been recently having problems with continuous freezing and the need to reboot. I ran the AppleCare Tech Tools (although still not covered by AppleCare) and the Video Ram test failed. Recommendations?- andaman
