Apply the software updater update. Then reboot. Then try again and you will get the OS update. I think its also now available as a DL.

AFAIK Apple have never included the "Apple Garamond" font as part of the system. I dont think its something that they want people using. Its for Apple internal use only. The font is very important to Apples corporate image.

Does anyone know why Terminal for instance takes up so much RAM? If i run top in the terminal window it reports that Terminal is taking up 13.8M RSIZE and 61.0M VSIZE. This seems pretty huge to me just for a terminal app. Anyone know whats going on there? thanks, Alex

Did you format using Apple's Drive Setup? You can lock disks with some 3rd party utilities, not suggesting you did this though. I assume you are renaming them under OS9? Try getting info on them and naming them in there. If that dont work boot with extensions off, or boot from the system...
