iDISK is hella fast in 10.1.5

I still think Goliath is faster. Yet, I have an iDisk concern. I suspect it has to do the the 10.1.5 update. Two days ago I had almost 5 meg of free space on my iDisk. Today, without having added Anything in over a month, my space is ALL GONE!! Is it just me?

    AppleWorks and Recent Items

Is it normal for the recent items listed in Appleworks to be hideously outdated? I don't have a single item there less than two months old. Time and time again, I close a document only to find it Not listed in Recent Items (Even in the Apple menu).

Simple question: is OS X able to run it's routine maintance operations while the computer is asleep (lid closed on a titanium), or does it need wide awake? Thanks.

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

Yes, I've rebooted the PC with the Mac on. I also reinstalled Sharit, without success. I then set up the PC (win 98 se) as a WINS server, using it's own IP address as the WINS address. This resulted in a Local machine time out error. I have just added the IP of the Linksys router as the...

    iDisk

Update: I entered afp://idisk.mac.com/ and got the forever spinning ball. I entered idisk.mac.com/ and was told that that server did not exist. And yes, I am replacing username with My username. (Hey, I've worked tech support! <G>)

    iDisk

Anyone know why, when opening iDisk, I keep getting a dialog box saying that my username or password are incorrect, and asking me if I want to open Network preferences? You see, not only that, when I click yes to open network preferences, not only does the preferences open, but the iDisk...

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

I've got the PC set up to share. I've tried entering my pc username in the username field, PC password in the password field, and share <pc> in the Domain/workgroup field (at a loss for any better place to put it, since I'm still unable to edit the bottom field), and I still get the same error...

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

Ok, I got SMBBrowse, however it is not clear what needs to be entered where. I keep being told that I need to select a server-share and enter a username and password. The latter two -Are- entered. But, for server-share, that entry does not appear to be editable (I click in the space but get...

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

I changed the computer name of my PC without damage to my connection. I go to Connect to Server and enter smb://<computer name>/<share> and Still get the generic no-can-do error message. Now that we've eliminated Computer name as the possible culpret, what about my Linksys router??

The name of my PC is the name given it by AT&T (a requirment they have). Could that be the problem? Can I change that name without mucking my connection?

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

I tried your smb://frink/pc method (using my PC's name, of course) and got the generic no service error. I have been able to ping both ways between PC and Mac. Note: The name of my PC is the name given it my AT&T (a requirment they have). Could that be the problem? Can I change that...

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

The path I've entered in my above post keeps getting mangled after being submitted. I'll put it again in this post and hope it comes out correct: smb://<workgroup>;\\<computer name>\<share> Once again, it's mangled, even though is showed correctly in Preview.

samba: mounting my XP disc on my mac and visa versa

Well, at least now I'm not getting the generic error message when trying to connect to my PC via Connect to Server, however, what I -am- getting is a kernel panic. Here's what I'm entering as the path: smb://<workgroup>;\\<computer name>\<share> I have two backward slashes before the...
