    New look of macosx.com?? (10/5/2002)

I agree! And please eliminate the flash navigation. It might have some sex appeal, but it becomes annoying and it really just fluff.

    bad Jakob Nielsen, bad!

Well Ricky, I have to point out that your comments about Neilsen are as unsubstantiated as his comments about the Mac.

    bad Jakob Nielsen, bad!

Trying not to defend Neilsen's motives or actions more than I already have, it is short sighted to think that he has never used a Mac. If you take a moment to browse over to useit.com and read some of his credentials he is a master in the field of usability. Take his stuff at face value and...

    bad Jakob Nielsen, bad!

I actually think it is a stretch to call Jakob Nielsen a "windows junky" or that he "doesn't know his ass from his elbow", he does have a very decorated past and carries some strong credentials as a UI designer. He biggest problem is his opinions and that many of them are not substantiated.

iDisk space explodes to 1 gigabyte!!!

it is probably a problem with the way they have their shared enviroment set up or just the continuing issue the find has with accurately determining the size of some files and/or volumes. mine has been doing that since the day i upgraded to 10.2 and subscribed to .Mac (the same day)...Aug. 24th.

    bad Jakob Nielsen, bad!

He usually has some good points that are only visible to those who can sift through his rhetoric. Most of what comes out of nielson's mouth (or keyboard, as it were) is cynical and negative. Jakob nielson is a misanthropic bastard, but very good at what he does.

A couple of Jaguar questions... !

At least Apple make a file and saves it from a screenshot winblows forces you to figure out what application you need to open to paste it into. If you want the browser to open them then export the screenshots as something else (JPG/GIF/PNG/TIF...) with Preview...it's not hard...

A couple of Jaguar questions... !

Yes the ketstrokes produce PDFs of the screenshots, but converting them is quick and easy with Preview.app. Double-click the screenshot icon...it opens in Preview. Go to File>Export and pick your favorite format. Screenshot pre-jaguar were TIFs and I think changing them to PDFs was a good...
