thats pretty tacky... like something you'd see on someone's "personal web site", where they put every little web trick they can find onto a site.

i think if we see another x.x.x update, it'll be in late may/early juneish. from everything i've read and heard about 10.3, its still not due until late summer.... so that's a big gap in updates from apple, given their recent track record of updates every few months. i think they may focus...

sometimes sound will die out and then come back - usually with divx stuff. all in all though, one of the best all around media players around! (wish they'd put some work into the prefs menus though... and make it easier for joe schmoe media player user (me) to understand what some of those...

there's too many free or cheaper/more functoinal apps out there to take the place of these apps if apple started nickel and diming us for everything they make. i use safari about half the time, and mail.app.... but if i had to pay for upgrades to these, i honestly think i would just use...

the 'up to date' CD's apple sent out when i got my iMac in august is *just* an upgrade CD. there is no 'options' button when you go to install 10.2 - if there is no other previous install of OS X, you will not be able to continue. going from a clean install of 10.1.5 > 10.2 isn't that bad, but...

is there a way to do a clean install w/ a jaguar 'upgrade' CD? it only lets me upgrade a previous install of 10.1 ... i thought all the cd's let you do a clean install, and now i'm discovering i'm going to have to put in a my 10.1 cd, format, install 10.1, then upgrade. kind of silly if you ask...

if they added a better rendering engine, as has been discussed before... omniweb could definately be a player as one of the top 2 or 3 browsers. right now, i think safari is the best, then chimera, then omniweb, and then mozilla and IE round out the top 5. OW has a lot of cool features, but...

i bought mine in late july, and they actually shipped me a copy of jaguar with the iMac - which i recieved on the 12th of august i believe. so if you order around the time of release, they usually will help you out.

perhaps so. thats why i said that for *me*, its just giving me problems. a few others on other boards have expressed the same problem, so i guess i'll just try again at another time. i'm going to reinstall os x in a few weeks (clean install), so that should take care of any lingering problems...

load time is around 30-45 seconds... window resizing seems to be a bit slow as well. i dunno, just kind of sluggish all around. also, i got a few crashes while doing some simple transitions. just a personal prefrence.

if you have the jaguar cd, download a shareware program called pacifist. it's a package manager program that will let you pick and choose which parts of a package to extract and/or install. insert the 2nd disk of jaguar, and drag the "additional packages.pkg" file onto pacifist. then just dig...
