    Arri I find disk utility to be rather buggy when it comes to creating back-ups of drives. Personally I use Carbon Copy Cloner to do this, just select "make disk image" in prefs. http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html This method is best done booted from another drive Regards Ed
