I did say I have more than one OS and I do have separate partitions for each. I suggested that IF you had more than one OS then you should have a separate partition for each.

I always partition my drive, one for Mac OS 9, one for Mac OS 10, and one as a storage dumpster. If YOU have more than one OS on the computer you should install each OS on a different partition so you can switch between the two at startup with the option key

I think Think Secret is the best because they have good information that is not far fetched. Macrumors is also good because they have a great message board. The others I don't visit often. mosr.com used to be on the top of my list too but they don't update enough to keep me reading.

Another option you could consider is getting the PowerBook G3 Pismo - 400 MHz. You could probably get one for less than $900. You could still get your iPod that way. I would do that myself if I were going to downgrade and get an iPod.

The older iBook does look good, I personally really liked the indigo one. I wish Apple would bring out computers with colors like they did! 800x600 will look much better on the older iBook than the new one. You will have to post your thoughts about your new setup when you get it. Have fun...

The big bad thing about the pre dual usb iBook is the fact that the screen resolution is 800x600 not 1024x768 like the dual usb. Mac OS X is awful at 800x600. I too have noticed that the rumor sites have been rather quiet lately. What has me rather annoyed is there has been almost no word about 10.2 lately. IE any build newer than 6B11. I will be severely disappointed if there is no word about OS 10.2 on Thursday.

Usually most sites have an option to choose between Real Media and either Quicktime or Windows Media. Since both Quicktime and Windows Media work with a Mac who cares about Real? I gave up on Real a long time ago.
