My sister got one a few days ago, I must say that I've changed my opinion of the glossy screens, they're quite nice. I'm also thoroughly impressed with the new MacBooks, Apple have done a top job.

This is ridiculous...here in Australia we're still waiting for the new MacBook Pros to hit the shelves, yet the new Core 2 Duo MacBooks are already here, despite the Pros being announced _before_ the MacBooks. This is turning out to be the longest wait for a birthday present ever...

They could've at least included an option for a matte screen, those glossy screens are horrible.

I'm just interested if anyone has received their new Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros yet? I ordered mine around October 30th, and it's now November 8th and there still isn't a single unit to be seen in any stores around here. I was told that a total of ONE unit was being shipped over to Australia today...

MSN Messenger 6 for Mac has been released, which is the first version that I've actually found to be usable and better than Adium. It now supports custom animated emoticons, you can make them yourself too, and it doesn't sign out on its own.

If you don't need one, I suggest waiting for something better. But remember, there is ALWAYS something better on the horizon, so it's just one of those bite the bullet and get one or wait moments. You might be using an outdated version of QuickTime.

I've actually (about four times today) had instances where iTunes has decided to play 2 songs at the same time...not impressed.

Well new Macs will come with Leopard when it's finally released, so it's kind of the same thing. I'd just wait till then, otherwise fork out the extra $129.

Wow, Apple are REALLY slow. Every other manufacturer has their Core 2 Duo laptops out and Apple are still lagging behind. Disappointing.

I've been waiting since about July for the new MacBook Pros to come out. After hearing about Intel's roadmap and how the current gen MacBook Pros have so many bugs, I figured I'd wait. Now I'm ready to buy the upcoming one; I just hope it comes out soon cause my iMac is becoming unbearable to use.

Sounds like you have a great machine on your hands. How does it handle 1080 HD trailers? I've heard the older 2GHz Intel Core Duos still struggle to play them perfectly.

I was hoping for a 16:9 screen, 4:3 is still poor in my opinion. Maybe next time.
