I've been having similar problems, connecting to a share on my NAS (DNS-323) from my MacBookPro running OS X 10.5.8. Finder connects automatically on boot up, but I only do that rarely - every couple of weeks or so. Most of the time I just put the MBP to sleep. When I wake the MBP up Finder...
