    OS 10.1.3 + NEC = fubar

AK: I think you should blame me. I "copied" his post to the OS X section but left a copy here as I saw that this thread *could* be both an open letter to apple with comments AND a cry for help in the OS X area... Maybe I'll just "move" them in the future, but I saw this as a thread with...

    Internet Explorer keeps quitting

You know, this thread is a PERFECT example of why I rarely, if ever. use IE and dread those times when I have to... Today I will remove IE from my apps folder. I'll have to make do with all the other browsers I have.

    OS 10.1.3 + NEC = fubar

did they explain what, exactly, the issue is? Curious... Also, I copied this to the OS X forum to see if anyone might have some help. Please post troubleshooting-type help there and any replies for Apple's eyes to the original location in Open Letters forum. Thank you. Drive through.

    Is your son a hacker!!!!!!!What the f***?

I, too, figured it was a joke as you can see from my (and others') previous posts. The fact that i saw it on a site like cruel.com a long time ago kinda made that obvious -- if you haven't, you should check that site out; just be careful, it's not for the young or easily offended. It has turned...

this is y file extensions are no good!

You make good point for your position. I just don't agree. FOR ME. I haven't memorized extensions. They are what they are. Even if I have to spend a SHORT learning curve discovering how the rest of the world works, fine. after that, I work better, faster, stronger. I think this is all...

this is y file extensions are no good!

I'm not "promoting" anything. I stated my preference. I stated a fact that the "problem" described is not an OS problem but a user problem. You may disagree as to whether or not OS X has done the "right" thing in giving you the OPTION of showing extension. I happen to think it was a...

this is y file extensions are no good!

I think my main point is still valid... This is user error. YOU are adding the "incorrect" extension - albeit on purpose. The OS is just doing what you told it to do ( a quality I think is GOOD in computers).

this is y file extensions are no good!

"this is anyways kinda cool!" So is your contention that extensions are good or not good? And, why, in the name of all things holy, would you do that?! Nothing, no OS, can protect from user error completely. You (or any user) could do the same thing and you don't need extensions to do it.

    Internet Explorer keeps quitting

hmmm. Got me. Like I said, when I had a problem with IE, I didn't actually reinstall IE - I reinstalled all of X (I wanted to change the way I had the partitions set up). I don't much use IE anymore but have not had the problem exactly as you describe. Anyone else?
