open system preferences, and on file sharing or similar, check "allow remote login" (this is how it was done in 10.1.5...)

    Unix Programs

also you can find some ports at macosx.forked.net and www.osxgnu.org (latter holds also OSXPM, a package installer/viewer/deinstaller - extreme caution needed, I fucked my system uninstalling X 10.1.5 update...and did not have image mounted so I could have reinstalled it right away) --->>>DO...

    Word 2001 in Jaguar

Hmm, if it's in shared volume, copy it over to HD and edit, then save on HD, copy to shared volume... Off-topic slightly: on spring 2001 I attended a media workshop, and once we started wondering why on earth the LAN was so dratted slow...the reason: One of the dudes was editing a rather huge...

problems with manThor after 10.2 upgrade

Check manThor preferences...Apple may have changed manpath, and the change has not been seen by manthor... You can get your current manpath by typing this in terminal: 'echo $MANPATH' without quotes (this at least applies to BASH...)

    Broken Folder Icon At Startup

There's something broken in your installation...I'd suggest you reformat, partition and then install OS X and OS 9 on separate partitions...and prolly another OS 9 to act as classic. By doing this, you'd still be able to boot into OS 9 if something goes wrong in OS X...

is it possible to uninstall a .pkg??

Or you simply could use either desinstaller or OSXPM (latter has also install functions...I used it to install something when Installer still said I need to update some system components, which were already up-to-date...) OSXPM can be found in http://www.osxgnu.org/

Is Diskwarrior still the best for optimizing?

Ed, I've been through that...out of foolishness I once force-quit Norton Speed Disk, and booted to find myself in other OS 9 installation I had...WTF? where's my main partition? it was totally whacked and TTP could do nil...norton did resurrect it, but since then, I've kept safe... No norton for...

Can I safely remove old OSX version

umm, if you reformat the partition, it does not pay heed about any links or aliases, it does not follow them.
