I'm 20 years old. I've used macs since my Elementary school got an LCII, I believe in my third or fourth grade... Could have been 5th... Before that, I was using Apple IIC's. The first computer I purchased was a Quadra 605. It was top o' the line with it's 100 meg hard drive and 66 mhz...

The only way to enable quartz extreme is to get a better video card, as far as I know. Any of the newer ATI Radeon or NVidea cards will work. I recently picked up a Radeon 8500 for this reason.

You go to the contacts editing panel, where you'd add and delete buddies, and click in the space to the right of each buddy, in the alias column. Also in the preferences you may want to change how it displays names in your buddylist and/or IM windows, but that's a matter of taste. Enjoy!
