Hi all, I'm buying a new G4 to replace my old G4. The old G4 is a 400MHz 'PCI Graphics' and my new G4 is a 1.25GHz 'mirrored doors'. Can I just take my MacOS 10.2.6 hard drive out of my old G4 and put it in my new G4? Thanks. - Paul

Hi Skoggis, Yes I mean postscript printers. The problem is this: We have Canon copiers with Fiery's RIP's connected. In OS 9 the printer driver allowed us to send notes to the Fiery which appeared in the job log. Now in OS X, the drivers don't have these notes pages. Canon haven't done anything...

Yes the Powerbook can see the adapter in Apple System Profiler & I have installed the latest IomegaWare. I was on live-talk with an iOmega techie yesterday and he also said the devices we incompatible with OS X but thanks anyway!

Thanks Bobw and Podmate. I took the extra (non Apple) ram out of my G4 and the install went fine! Then I put the non Apple ram back in and it still worked, so I will also check the ram next time I do a OS 10 upgrade (which is going to be quite soon because I have a whole company to upgrade!) - Paul

Thanks Urbansory, I'll try that. It's definately not my install CD because I've got 3 of them! I also heard on another forum that there are problems with some memory DIMMS that hinder Jaguar installs. Has anyone heard of that problem? Ta. - Paul

Sorry can't help you there! I still use VLC for some DVD work but if I just want to watch one I use Apple's DVD player as it's much better. The latest VLC has some Interlace options you can try. Can't you use Apple's player? - Paul

Ooo, I didn't make myself clear! None of the computers is connected to the printer! The printer is on the network in one of the port of the mini hub! The two Macs are in two of the other ports. - Paul

My friends Anna and Edward have one of those new G4?s with the mirrored doors and exhaust ports (!) running 10.2.4. and Classic (because they use QuarkXpress). I set up a little network of the G4 and a Powerbook so that they can both print to their old Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS, which works...
