This worked! Thanks for the information!! Kind of strange the two of us had this problem. ADDED Ok another problem, when I close the Finder the Special Character also goes away. Is there a way to keep it without having to do this every time? Thanks for the help.

This is the EXACT same thing that is happening to me. I feel like I am loosing it, this seems very simple but for some reason I can not get the special character to work.

If you already have QuickTime you can install this to support Windows Media. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx But I have noticed that internet and some sites are running slower now.

Hello again, like I said in earlier posts I am new to Mac. Love the hell out of it!! The past couple of days I have noticed a weird phenomenon happening. The screen goes black for a second, like it is trying to switch to the screen saver. But I have been using the machine and the idle timer...

Another problem I just found out about. Again the salesman said iWork 08 can be viewed by Word users. I emailed a resume to a friend and they could not open it. Am I going to have to buy the Word program for MAC? Thanks for your help. Rick
