What happens now to the people with new Macs who need a disk fixing program thanks to disk errors? All the current disk utility CDs won't boot a new Mac, so we have to wait for Disk Warrior 3*, and even then will it work with OS Xs UNIX permissions as well as it did in OS 9? I really hope...

Sounds like your disk directory is really screwed up; I recommend using Disk Warrior in OS 9. (www.alsoft.com) A new OS X native version is coming out soon, I bet that will be the only good solution for the OS X-only booting computers. Anyone else think that Apple was too soon in releasing OS...

Actually the iMovie program code itself is probably more like 10 MB or so, it's the extra languages you don't use (like Chinese/Russian/etc.) that take up lots of space, often more than the program itself. (iPhoto is about 30 MB before language removal, about 11 MB after (i think)). Remember...

I use a lab of 25 of them and have seen no color distortion at all unless you mean the fading to black on the edges if viewing at extreme angles (if you've used an LCD you know what I mean). No hue shifts though. But when Apple compares a 17" LCD display to a 21" CRT they really are pushing...

I'm sure this isn't the response you're looking for, but do you really notice a difference between 40 fps and higher? I know I can't see much above 30 fps... Are you the only person experiencing this? or was it a poor coding job by Aspyr?

I haven't had any kernel panic issues like those mentioned in the article but I can't display presentations since my 1998 laptop has 4MB of VRAM, not the required 8. I wonder what Keynote is doing to crash the entire system? I thought it was impossible under OS X, unless buggy kernel...

Yeah it definitely will be updated in the next 6 months, more likely to be within the next 2 months (after the upcoming iMac refresh). Hopefully the 15" won't compromise on the cool new features the 17" has (AirPort Extreme for example - hopefully they will switch to Aluminum to avoid the poor...

You can only use the older style AirPort in your iMac, and if your wife has a new PowerBook (the only computers currently AirPort Extreme-ready) then buying 1/2 and 1/2 will limit the speed to the slower connection. So, go for the 802.11b - you'd be throwing your money away otherwise. BTW...

Actually, I have a technical question. Why did Apple decide to drop Sprockets for OS X at all? Wasn't it a big feature of OS 8.5 and higher? It supposedly made programming controllers for the game developers much easier right? Apparently they haven't replaced it with anything better otherwise...

I'm almost positive PC Card type X can read every type below it; i.e. PC Card Type II can read Type I. This is because the higher the Type number, the thicker the card is, but the connector doesn't change. Also, I think the WallStreet you have (the model right under mine by the way, isn't it...
