hmm, question, i just resized my window and went into the preferences and adjusted the number of buttons vertically and horizontally to make the window nice and small...i also increased the transparency there. so my question is did changing the nib file result in anything different? is it even...

i installed it under x, and don't worry about the extensions...if you install it in 9 you'll need to put the extensions in the extensions folder :)

binaries are now up.... I kinda have it working, x starts up but there aren't any xterm windows and i don't even think twm is starting because i can't get a pop-up menu when i click. It works if i go to the console at login though. So if anyone can help me out there that would be great.

right...too bad you completely misunderstood what i said. I was tring to convey i don't like global floating windows of any nature, which drop drawers is...and it is an annoyance when i'm dragging a file or clicking on the edge of the screen and some stupid global window happens to be in my way...

I was unaware of this, but i find this as a grievance as well. One thing i despise is when i need to click on something near the edge of the screen and something pops up in my way (ex dock, startmenu, control strip, drop drawers). Clearly we manage our screens differently... I despise...

i would imagine most places that sell macs will have os x on the 24th. CompUSA, college campuses, etc...I know they've all had os 9 and 8.5 on their release dates, so i see no reason x will be any different. They'll probably have demo days at compUSA (apple gets people to go demo the os)

my imac is already running only os x pb solely...so i'll get os x as soon as it comes out and pop it on there. I also have a pm 8600 with an upgrade card that is currently running os x pb, 9, 8.6, 8.1, and 7.6.1...hehe, so yeah, i'll install os x on it but the rest of the systems will remain...

it might be a permissions problem. I'm not too shocked or horrified that it doesn't run though, its a classic program, and there are plenty of resources availabe that are carbon...I'm sure they're holding the os x version for the final release
