I think by the time the towers are ready there probably will be a design change, but even if it remained the same I hope any space savings will mean more internal drive bays and perhaps SLI.

I think the arguement of not considering the CPU when buying a Mac is only partly true. Since the PPC CPU began shipping in Macs, it was always highly touted as one main reason to buy the Mac. Because it was supposed to be so much better than a Pentium. The ads mentioned it, the commercials...

I don't think we have anything to worry about there. After all, when was the last time we saw an Apple desktop or laptop hardware commercial? The 1st gen G5?

I'll definitely get one if one is available my way. Although I'm not huge on gaming, the prospect of hacks for the rev 1 hardware will probably be much higher than subsequent releases. I would of thought the system would of come with more RAM, like 1GB instead of 512.

Well it's bound to happen as many are going to argue that particularly those that are taking a wait and see attitude on new purchases knowing that these current updates may be the last or second to last before the x86 switchover.

What I'd like to know is will Front Row only be availbale on new Macs or will it be sold seperately with the remote and IR receiver so all Macs can use it? This will eventually be a sore point among users if it won't be.
