    10.2 prices

Your iMac can be older than mine by only a couple of months at most. 10.1.x is perfectly usable on my 233 iMac (in contrast to 10.0.x). I wouldn't want to do anything CPU-intensive on it, but it works. but yes, if I were you, I'd wait until Jag-wire too.

    Smiling moneky are nice... but

Thanks for that, evildan. Well spake. nkuvu, I think Admin's latest actions speak for themselves. For him to remove all the censorship is to implicitly (or explicitly) admit that it didn't work. He trusted twyg and the mod team to run things in his absence. He must surely realize that any...

A clean start is possible, but it's up to us!

No, I think a battle was fought. A lot of people left in solidarity with the people who had been banned. That could be construed as fighting--letting others know that they weren't going to put up with that nonsense.

    Herve's Bar & Grill

Yeah, I meant RacerX. Seems to me it'll take a miracle (Admin supplicating himself) to get him back.

Yeah, what will we do without our head troll-hunter? He doesn't seem very amenable to coming back anytime soon. :(

I would imagine that there's still some censoring of "bad words". I don't know what's in your sig that's starred out. . . . I'm fine with THAT kind of censorship. edit: I looked at your sig, and I see what word has been censored. That's just fine with me! ;)

    Herve's Bar & Grill

Well, for myself, I think I'll hang around for a while and see what develops. What irked me the most was the censorship of discussion about the forum. If that's still in place this post won't see the light of day, and I won't hang around. I just hope we can get everyone back. Oh, xoot...

    Congrats to nkuvu!

All right, this is too weird for me. :( I'm adding my name to the list of the dearly departed. Bye everybody! It was fun while it lasted. :(

    filesystem for all?

AFAIK, only FAT (16 or 32) partitions will be mountable by all those platforms. I could be wrong, though. . . .

    Your radiation shield has failed.

Wow, that's great, Bling. I could have some fun with my labmates *evil cackle*. However, would there be a way of accomplishing such a thing w/o Dreamweaver (I have no access to that).

Blue Screen, Spinning Cursor at shutdown

Yeah, I've had a couple of posts like that. What I did in that situation was to request personal help from a Press3 volunteer. The advice that I got led me to a fix! I was quite pleased. :)

Blue Screen, Spinning Cursor at shutdown

Yup. It just reinforces my opinion that I won't trust Norton as I far as I can throw it. Oops, I could probably throw a CD pretty far. :p I'd better rephrase: I wouldn't trust Peter Norton as far as I could throw him. ;) :p

Let's see if your real face looks better than your desktop. Post your pic!

I loved the headline and accompanying article in the most recent The Onion: "National Science Foundation: Science Hard". LOL. I have a feeling that one is going to be posted in a lot of labs. :p :D My favorite part was the picture of the guy pointing to a poster of some genome thing titled...

Blue Screen, Spinning Cursor at shutdown

And the spinning pizza of death happens every time, or just once? Have you checked out Apple's discussion forums to see whether this is documented in other places? It might be some strange thing with 10.1.5. With so many people reporting this in this thread, that's what I'm beginning to...

Blue Screen, Spinning Cursor at shutdown

Have you tried any 3rd party drive utilities, such as Norton or Drive10 or Techtools (or whatever Micromat is calling it these days)? If an "advanced" utility like that isn't able to fix your problems (and I use the term advanced loosely--I don't trust Norton diskdoctor one bit), I'd say...

    Mozilla and MacOSX.com cookies

Okay, I now have another thought. Do I get logged out after a period of inactivty while I'm in my user control panel? Could that be it? because otherwise my cookies seem to be behaving quite normally.
