    Color On Monitor

If this is a CRT make sure you move and speakers or big magnets away from it... Also make sure all of the cables are connected tightly and none of the pins are bent... VGA results in what you describe if all the pins are not making contact.

    Security Update 2005-007

Security Update 2005-007 just popped up on my Software Update. (I'm sill on 10.3.x not 10.4) Reading the notes, this caught my attention: The CVE has not been updated yet, so I can't find any additional info. Anyone know what the deal with this is? [/list]

    Java Newbie: Constructors and sub-Classes?

Okay... that looks like this will get me over this hump. THANKS Eternal! I'm just not sure why the book didn't include these extra Geek constructors. Are these unneeded in Java 1.5, but needed in my 1.4?

    Java Newbie: Constructors and sub-Classes?

I have a class named Person and a sub-class named Geek. Within geek I try to create a new Geek, and am told that "The constructor Geek(String) is undefined". Stop putting crap in my Documents folder!!

If it truely is the users documents, then nothing else should ever be put there. Currently this folder has a ton of...

Desktop LCD Displays piss me off

IMHO it's simple ergonomics + economics. A laptop screen is usually closer to you, thus easier to see. My 17" screen is almost 2 feet away, and (wih my glasses on) I can barely read it sometimes at 1280x1024. Anything smaller would add no value, and only up the price. The reason to do it on a...

    Weird characters in domain names?

Ahh... this is the one that explains it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punycode This is the important detail that explains why Safari/IE/Firefox all behave differently: So now in the context of the spoofing attack reference above... Isn't the fact that Safari converts TO punycode a spoofing...
