All I did was plug it all in and assume that I would not have to touch my Network prefs in panther because it was already set to built in ethernet.

I just got a new stick of 512MB RAM for my iBook G4 800MHz to replace the other stick that didn't work, now it won't even read that there was any RAM installed. I really don't want to shop around again. How can I fix this!?

I bought a stick of 512 for my iBook, and it was not a name brand stick of memory. It was making panther freeze, mess up on startup, and even had a few kernal panics. I think it was a bad stick so their going to send me another. Even though its not name brand will it still work with panther...

Its the right kind of memory but I think it was a bad stick so their going to send me a new one. Hopefully it'll work fine this time.

I think 800MHz G4 is plenty and its 640MB RAM, Halo ran pretty well when I only had 128MB.

Also is there any way I can burn in Classic, it doesn't seem to read any CD-R in classic but maybe theres a way around that? I'm on an iBook G4 so I can't boot into 9.x!

I've tried burning at 1x 2x and 4x. I always get this error The drive reported an error: Sense Key=UNIT ATTENTION Sense Code=0x29 POWER ON,RESET,OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURRED and I'm using Toast 6.0

its a USB drive, I don't really care about how fast it burns just as long as it does.

I know its supported because toast reads the drive and shows the model number and it shows it in the apple system profiler, I just keep getting errors when I try to burn something, and I know its not the CD.

I have an external CD-R drive thats USB and mac os x reads it and I tried using burn but when the screen comes up the burn disc option isn't availible because it doesn't see a CD-R in the drive and in Toast it does the same.

Whats the best way to clean the screen of an iBook when it gets dirty?

I just updated my Halo to 1.0.5 and now when I try to open halo it doesn't read the CD, I mount a disc image to play it and it worked up untill I updated to 1.0.5
