i was intrigued by this, so i searched VT for the plugin, and i found it: HERE IT IS. however after reading the reviews i am a bit hesitant to install it myself. i can live without a dancing dock. i just provided the link in case anyone else wants to try it out.

hmm, i have 10.1.5 and AIM 4.5.651, and i use AIM all the time (almost daily) and i haven't had any crashes. in fact it works great for me, except for one small thing.... if AIM has been running for 3+ hours, after awhile my IM's start coming out blank. my friends i'm chatting with can see...

the sound is indistinguishable according to a panel of experts. obviously, not everyone is going to agree with these experts. we should be able to encode at whatever bit-rate we want...experts be damned. if 128kbps really is cd-quality, then i'm sure few will encode any higher then that, but...

actually, you can edit with iTunes...here, i'll explain. say for example that i have a cd with a single track that is 3:00 in length. now, say that i want to edit it so that it starts at 0:05, and ends at 2:55. i highlight that track on the cd, and then open up the info window (cmd-i)...

i haven't noticed much of a difference with the update so far. iDisk access is a bit faster for me, but just a bit. prolly because of this damned 56k. one negative thing i noticed: in the past, i could open and close the tray on my external burner with the eject key....that doesn't work...
