    The Jaguar Bugs Thread

You're right. Apparently, if you haven't changed your password since before the upgrade to 10.2 then the Windows file sharing login passwords don't get updated. There must be a separate location for system login passwords and the Windows File sharing passwords. I did have the "Allow user to...

    Mac FM tuner

Buying a radio just wouldn't be any fun. Plus, if I wanted to record anything it wouldn't be as easy to get on your computer. You would have to record to a cassette, then hook your radio up to your computer etc. Same thing if you're talking video, record to VHS etc. Plus, I do already have a...

SCSI CD-RW Not Recognized For Writing

Nope, tried it and Toast still didn't see my drive. Here's an interesting picture from Disk Utility. Apparently, my Plextor Drive burns 8 TB discs. I guess I got a damn good deal.

    Mac FM tuner

I've been looking for the same thing. Although, I would like a CABLE/TV/FM Tuner that works in OS X. I'm hoping to find something in the range of $40 - $75. USB or PCI would be fine.

SCSI CD-RW Not Recognized For Writing

I'm once again having a problem with my Plextor SCSI CD-RW drive. With versions up to 10.1.3, I had to use the El Gato SCSI Helper. After 10.1.3, the problem in MacOS X was fixed and I no longer needed the SCSI helper extension. I have never been able to burn CDs with iTunes or via any Apple...

    The Jaguar Bugs Thread

I found another one. I turn Windows File Sharing on and enable my user name to login from windows computers. Now I go to a windows machine and type \\IP_Address_Of_Mac with the appropriate IP address. I am then prompted with the username/password dialog box. So I enter my MacOS X username...

    The Jaguar Bugs Thread

I've always had a problem my Plextor SCSI 12x10x32 burner in MacOS X. With versions up to 10.1.3, I used the El Gato SCSI Helper. After 10.1.3, the problem in MacOS X was fixed and I no longer need the SCSI helper extension. I have never been able to burn CDs with iTunes or via any Apple...

OSX 10.2 and Carbon Copy Cloner

Just curious, what version are you using? I heard of some problems even under 10.1 with CCC 1.3 I think. I believe I am using 1.2.2 and it was doing fine. Although, I haven't tried it yet under OS 10.2, I did use it to backup 10.1 before updating to 10.2.

10.2 Experiences, what you expected? It sure blows me away!

So far, 10.2 has been great. The overall performance of my whole system has dramatically improved. My whole boot time is probably like 5 times faster than before on dual-533 MHz G4s. Make sure to backup your httpd.conf and other configurations files if you have made a lot of...

    Jaguar Broke Apache

I figured it out. My whole httpd.conf file was obliterated during the update to 10.2, so I had to go through and compare the new httpd.conf file to my old one and comment/uncomment lines. Well, in the default httpd.conf file with MacOS X, they removed the lines that you would uncomment for...

    Modem Connection Problems

Just thought that I would let everyone know that I never found a solution to my problem under MacOS 10.1. I installed Jaguar last night though and the problem has pretty much been fixed. My connection will still get messed up after while of being connected, but now I can just tell "Internet...

    Jaguar Broke Apache

Nope, it does not complain. Here's what I see... 20 [/]% sudo apachectl restart Password: /usr/sbin/apachectl restart: httpd restarted

    Jaguar Broke Apache

No, it is using version 1.3.26. Before anyone asks, yes I did restart apache after modifying the httpd.conf to load php4. I also checked that the libphp4.so exists, and it does. But it's not loading right for some reason. Here's my stated version: Server Version: Apache/1.3.26 (Darwin)...

    Jaguar Broke Apache

I just installed Jaguar out of the box. Now Apache is not working properly. Primarily, it will not display PHP pages. I'm sure I'll find more problems as I go along (not checked perl yet). I've tried everything I could think of immediately. Like checking to make sure that the load and add...

    Jaguar shipped!

Mine was picked up in Cordova, TN too. I'm wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if Apple has some sort of Warehousing network around the US? I remember my 10.1 upgrade CD being shipped from like South Bend, IN I think.

    Jaguar shipped!

I ordered my Jaguar with the student discount on Sunday. It was picked up for delivery in Cordova, TN Wednesday evening via 2nd day FedEx, so it should be here Friday. I also ordered my copy of Macromedia Studio MX with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash Creator, etc.. via overnight FedEx on...

The Mr. William spoken of is our site Admin. This was posted on the MacObserver site in response to an article about the shutdown of MacOSX.com in protest. I completely agree with Stephan. The only reason people talk about and sometimes criticize what Apple does is because they truely care...

    OQO PDA To Run WinXP??

Did it look like a PDA? Was it marketed as a PDA? Could it do more than a PDA? Could it run MacOS apps with no modification? It was a PDA. Perhaps a really soaped up PDA, but it was a PDA. If I see you get a MacOS on it and run some applications with major modifications to the original...

    Modem Connection Problems

I'm actually still running OS 10.1.4, so it's likely just a 10.1 problem. In addition to the above, like you stated. If I just do a regular disconnect and then try to reconnect later, my connections are messed up and I need to restart to have a good one. That's a regular disconnect too, not a...
