    iPhoto Keeps Crashing

This sometimes works. Launch GarageBand, create a new project and save it. Quit and re-try iPhoto. Edit: If that doesn't work, go to [your user folder]/Library/Preferences and find a file called 'com.apple.iPhoto.plist'. Drag this to the trash and re-launch iPhoto.

    i need imac g3 model#5521 boot disks

You don't need the original boot disks. Any retail version of OS 9, OS 10.2 Jaguar or 10.3 Panther will do. Don't know how well your G3 would run 10.4 Tiger. It would depend on the amount of RAM you have. More information on your system and machine specs would help.

Moving from G5 PPC to New Mac Pro

I used the Migration Assistant to move from a G4 running Tiger to an Intel iMac. No problems. I then updated to Leopard using the standard 'Upgrade' option, again without problems. I would try Migration Assistant first since that is the easiest option. You will have to do some tidying up after...

    Can't initialize WD External Drive

Is the external drive powered by a separate power supply? Problems can occur if you have a bus powered drive and the bus can't provide enough power to run it. Does it have a FireWire port? If so, try that. Also, the WD drive is probably formatted for PC using a 'Master Boot Record'. If you can...

    Cnnot delete mail in OSX

In the View menu in Mail there is an option to show or hide deleted messages. You may have accidentally hit Cmd-L (-L) at some time while in Mail and thus told the program to display deleted messages -which will be gray. Just a thought.

CAN't install on a fresh Drive for my Powerbook G4

A flashing folder with a question mark means the Powerbook can't find a System folder on the hard drive to start up from. Did you just install the new drive fresh from the box? If so, it doesn't have a system on it, and may not even be correctly formatted. To format the drive and install the...

Error 36 (I couldn't find someone with this same error, only some close ones)

An error -36 is an Input/Output error which I think means there are problems accessing the hard drive. It may not necessarily be the drive itself, but could be a problem with the cable (USB, Firewire, SATA, whatever) or the port. Try a different cable/port before returning the drive. I assume...

    Network

Forgive me if I am suggesting something very basic, but have you tried repairing permissions using DiskUtility? If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, this is what you do: • Go to Applications/Utilities/DiskUtility. • Click on the 'First Aid' tab below the toolbar. • Select your Mac...

    data retrieval from corrupt ipod

Have you tried to 'reset' your iPod? It often fixes a lot of problems. You will not lose your data. Check this link for info… http://www.zolved.com/synapse/view_content/19516/How_do_I_reset_and_or_restore_my_iPod Do NOT use the 'restore' function unless all else fails, since this will...

    Clone a dual-booted Mac?

Yup, that's what I use for the XP partition. For the Mac partition I use SuperDuper. I searched hi and lo for a way to clone the XP partition and the best solution was WinClone - a Mac program! lol :D

    iBook G4 problem.

You can connect the iBook to your iMac with a firewire cable and start it up in "target disk mode". Once connected, reboot the iBook and hold down the T key until a firewire symbol starts bouncing around the screen. You can now access the iBook's HD from the iMac to do diagnostics with...

Sent Mail messages not showing in Mailboxes in Mail app

From the attached pic it appears that your IN box is actually a subfolder inside your JEWELRY box. That should not be the case. You should have a separate IN box like on the pic below. You may have to re-set up your folders so Mail knows where to put things. The IN, SENT, TRASH & JUNK folders...

External Hard Drive to Leopard Migration

In the /Applications/Utilities folder there is a program called Migration Assistant. Just start that up and follow the instructions which are quite easy and straight forward. The Apple site also has some information here –> http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25773

    Help:-)

I see no reason an external CD drive should be a problem. I have installed OS9 using a firewire QPS CD burner in the past.

Mail hung up on large message

I also have issues with Mail when forwarding messages which contain pictures. It doesn't have to be large but if pics are present it takes 30s or more to appear in the new mail, during which time the annoying beach ball keeps spinning. Sometimes pics don't appear in the new mail unless I choose...

Stuck at login & can not enter safe mode

I found this on www.appleerrorcodes.com -88 prInitErr InitUtil found the parameter RAM uninitialized It seems to indicate a problem with the parameter RAM (read more about that here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86194) in which case maybe "zapping" it would help. Restart...
