If you have a utility to change its Type and creator codes, that might do the trick. If not, try opening QuickTime and bringing it in from there.

If I remember correctly, the vcd has an index file that divides the tracks up and points to the data files, that are mpgs in the data folder.

Say that fixes just about everything that I was starting to HATE about it! :D
