    Hm.. I leave shared disks mounted all the time when going to sleep with no problems (i never sleep the server though). After a forced the reboot the system probably runs a fsck to check and repair the boot volume.

    31.49Gb = 121.0Gb??

    > Perhaps the jumpers on it are set to limit the drive capacity? I always suspected this, all HD's where manufactured in the 60's and are stored in a gigantic secret warehouse, every now and then they are re-jumpered to allow larger drive capacity. Project builder Vs. School Compiler

    conio.h ia a Windows file, I think going back to the DOS days, used for IO at the dos prompt.. You should probably look in io.h or stdio.h for substitutions to the calls to conio.h Just to download the .h file will not help you if the library your compiler uses don't include the calls...

    "Temporary Items"

    I agree with genghiscohen and buc99, it's probably another app (in classic perhaps) that creates the "Temporary Items" folders , the system puts all such stuff in /tmp , wich you can't see in the finder i think, only in Terminal.

    Uploading files to an ftp server...

    If you mount an ftp volume with "Connect to server" you mount it read-only and you can't upload. At least I can't. If you loose the connection with the mounted ftp server your mac hangs.

Then i copied /Library/Printers from another (working) Mac. Then i'm back to square one, I can add my printers ok, it correctly...
