Apple confirms: Lion arriving on July 20th

I did a straight clean install, I never trust an upgrade. So far everything has run flawlessly. Of course I have a backup if anything goes wrong though. The one thing I'm waiting for is iCloud. I have that annoying button under the MobileMe preference panel that says upgrade to iCloud, but the...

Apple confirms: Lion arriving on July 20th

So the download itself costs $29, but if you want to have it on a flash drive you pay like 40 extra bucks. Meaning they charge you $40 for like a 4 gig flash drive. I feel like most people would rather have their friends download it then copy it to a flash drive and install off of that. Oh and...

Apple confirms: Lion arriving on July 20th

Yah, I sure hope Apple is ready for a couple million 4 GB downloads 24/7. I'm just curious if Lion is worth buying if you already have the Golden Master of OS X Lion? After all it is the golden master and should have all of the features in the final copy, right? I'm guessing that it should...

    iPhoto update

That does seem a bit odd that they would make you re-download the entire program. The 9.1.5 update itself is 200 MB, so you think they would require you to do that. I guess Apple felt a need for you to re-download the entire program.

    Stupid irritating popup ads!!!!!

I don't really ever get popups on my laptop, but on iPhone it does really piss me off that I have to click out of an ad that takes up my entire screen every time I change a webpage. Then half the time I miss the X to exit out of the ad and then it brings me to a new webpage.

    Lion via App Store

Well I got that, which made me ask that question. It seems like it's such a small installer compared to even Snow Leopard which makes me wonder even if do burn it to a DVD, do you still need Snow Leopard to install the base of Lion?

    Lion via App Store

I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the whole having to upgrade from Snow Leopard. I prefer to totally have a clean install and while I guess you can have a clean install of Snow Leopard and then upgrading. This just seems totally weird and I feel like it might create some problems.

    Thunderbolt Cables available!

I'd buy one if I had a reason to use one. Currently just about every piece of hardware that supports Thunderbolt is a bit expensive at the moment.....

Apple & adobe Flash Player ?

Well it's simple, Apple hates Adobe Flash and Oracle's Java. They aren't even included in OS X Lion, although Apple does allow you to install it from software update when a program needs it. I don't see why you aren't able to download Flash though. The latest version of Flash for OS X is 10.3...

Sound/Main Output very Trebly/Bassy...in OSX but not XP!?

It's simple, Hear starts up whenever you start the computer. If you don't know exactly what you are doing with Hear, then theres no reason to use it because it will screw up all of your sound. Just simply delete it from your start up programs... No reason to use vulgar by the way.

how to re-install a fresh copy of os 9.2.1?

He possible might have also downloaded only the update and not the actual installer as I believe you can't download it like you can OS 7 from Apple's website, unless of course it was pirated.

What's the Point of Google's Browsers "Tracking Website Habits"?

One quick thought that comes to mind is that they might use it for search engine optimization. Meaning that they collect the stats from everybody's browsers and the websites with the most hits, they will move to the top of the search list when you type in certain keywords.

    Lion thoughts

Though on the other hand, I always liked Mac OS X server better because it was very user friendly. If I remember correctly, Apple doesn't even use their own server software to run their website. I think it sort of goes against practicing what you preach, unless I'm wrong about it. Making me ask...

Are .Mac email accounts being resurrected?

I'm guessing that in order to use the email service for your email address, you keep on having to pay. If you had the .mac email address before they switched to MobileMe, then you kept your previous email address. All that really matters is if your email address is valid at the time of...
