Need to convert wmv to itunes, whats the best way

In past years, Mac WMV support has always been a version behind. I'm not sure what the situation is now. Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't work very hard to get WMV's working on OS X. There have always been videos that we couldn't watch at all. You might want to look at VLC if you haven't...

Memory? alone here in the moon light?

Look at your manual for instructions on installing the memory. Or the web. As for performance increase w/more memory. I like to have several apps open at once. On my 768 MB iBook with 10.5 Leopard, having more than a few apps open slows it noticeably. My 1.5 GB MacBook Pro can handle many...

Help! System freezes or hangs on boot/startup

The fact that it freezes in both OS X and Boot Camp is an interesting clue. Have you made any hardware changes to the machine? Added memory, peripherals, etc.? This may be a hardware issue. Call Apple. Good luck. Doug

    MacBook and "right-click"

You can also run Dictionary. It's an application in /Applications. To get to it or any other application, double-click your hard drive icon on the Desktop (or in any Finder window) and double-click Applications. I always drag the Applications folder to my Dock (strip at bottom of screen). Easy...

    Graphics Nightmare on Leo....

Do you still have Applecare? Does anyone know if Apple offers tech support for software such as retail OS X? I would call Apple. Might even be worth paying them to help you solve the problem if you don't have free support anymore. Doug

Error -41 when connecting OS X to Windows XP

I found this thread from Mac OS X Hints: http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=14092 with a possible solution. Do you have your machine set up in a domain? I had to read up on domains, and I found: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/crawford_december24.mspx...

    Time Machine Migration Problem

Since no one has answered your post, I'll give it a shot. Keep in mind I haven't ever attempted a Time Machine restore (knock on wood). How about 1.) Restore from your Time Machine backup and then 2.) Apply the combo update from Apple's website: www.apple.com/support/downloads <-- Get...

Problems receiving Win XP attachments in MAIL

I haven't heard of this one before. I thought at first you were having a known problem with, I think, Outlook 2000 that could be fixed with tnefEnough (or whatever it is called--I'm not at my Mac right now. You may want to try it still. I'll get the exact name soon, tnef enough. Also...

    Hooking up a G5 to a projector

"G5" refers to the IBM PowerPC processor that Apple used to use in its desktop computers. Now they have switched to Intel processors, the same processors you find in MS Windows computers. If you have a Mac Book Pro, that has an intel microprocessor. Good luck and let us know how it works...

Questions about bluetooth firmware and software

    External HD/D refusing to mount

Sissyfoo, This is not just a Mac problem. If you disconnect the hard drive in the middle of the write, you can corrupt data. You have some good choices for hard drive recovery: 1. Disk Warrior - Maybe a silly name, but this is a powerful disk recovery program that scavenges files and...

    Mail

Poetguy, Welcome to MacOSX.com! I don't think you're missing anything. This is the way the Mac shows the dates. If it says Wednesday, then that would be last Wednesday. If you have an email from two Wednesdays ago, it will show a read date, not just the day. So, an email received yesterday...
