I probably haven't been paying attention, but over at the Real website, they have a beta of the RealOne player for Mac OS X posted. Has this been out for a while, or am I actually one of the first people to know something?:rolleyes:

I'm setting up a 4400/200 PowerMac to be an MP3 server. For some odd reason, it won't boot from the hard drive, even though files are accessible from it when I boot from a CD. What I thought I'd do is burn a Linux distro onto a CD and use that to boot the computer and serve MP3s from it...

I'm thinking that iPod 1.2 will arrive August 5th. I acknowledge that as I write this, it will be the 5th for some people. But since I am on the West Coast, as is Apple... Um... Dammit, lost my train of thought again. Um... Yeah, I think it's gonna be really soon.

Yay! It works! Thank you testuser! It's been a learning experience for all of us. :D The perl script sao provided wouldn't work with iTunes 3, since 3 added the Composer, My Rating, etc. fields. It wasn't until after I tried it that I figured that out. Thanks for listing it, though!

You'll have to forgive me; this script issue has been gnawing at my mind, and I may seem really eager. Maybe it's not a problem. ;) The problem with this new script is that now it splits up the album names, so that it looks like this:

This guy wrote about how he just got his 20GB iPod today (8/02/2002), and how the firmware was on the iPod *and* the CD. I'm guessing that other people have gotten their new iPods too, and would thus have the installation CD. :D Cool, isn't it?

I've heard that the installer for the iPod 1.2 firmwire update is on CDs coming with the new iPods. If anyone would be kind enough to post it on their website (preferably one which wouldn't die easily :D), that would be groovy. Does anyone know when it will be put on Apple's website?

With the new script, output looks like this: The script has no problem with albums, but when it replaces the spaces in the artist folder name with underscores and then tries to look *in* the folder with underscores in the name, there's no folder to be found.
