    iMac Update

How much life did you say that you wanted out of it? This Biege I'm using right now has to be 7 or 8 years old but it runs like a champ...well not for photo or video editing but hey it runs safari alright.

    Memory Problems

I've used many stand alone computers that have needed permissions repaired many times. It does happen, even apple says that by repairing permissions you can eliminate seemingly random problems. I've worked in network environments that have required that, I've worked in standalone environments...

    Memory Problems

I disagree, what if apps are opening slow because of permission problems? I know you can fix that without OnyX but its easier for your average user to update prebindings and to run the daily, weekly, and monthly scripts than have to run them through the terminal. Don't use the cache cleaning...

[HOWTO] - Keep permissions up to date automatically.

hmm you may be able to enhance performace by also putting in a line to use the command 'update_prebinding'

    iMac Update

In 6 months you may see a 2.0 Ghz proc in the iMac, I would argue if you have time to wait and you want to be on the bleeding edge than wait. Your investment will just go a little further if you do. If you get a gig are you going to get it in the form of one dimm. That would definetly be you...

Ripping apart old external CD-RW drives...hehehe

This past weekend I was finally able to get a stable copy of 10.3.5 on my Biege. Unfortunately I couldn't get full support for my sony CD-RW even in patchburn. I had this old iomega CD-RW sitting next to me that I no longer used. So I took to ripping it apart, turns out there was a lite-on...

Need help choosing an "Airport Extreme Card"

The second link post the original 11 Mbps Airport card for a ridiculously expensive price. To the best of my knowledge those are no longer manufactured. They are also not Airport "Extreme". The extreme refers to 802.11g(54 Mbps); the original Airport card was 802.11g(11 Mbps), about 5 times...

Tip for Expose usage: Might sound silly, but it really works

I have a logitech mouse and I was able to set the scroll wheel button to F9 but I had to turn it off in expose first in order to get it to set the button.

    iMac Update

Yeah 4 months doesn't sound too likely for a new iMac revision but if you can wait 6 months you may have something with less issues, since its not the first revision....I couldn't wait.

    Biege G3 Ready for Panther...

Ill have to look into that. I don't want to damage the chip at all, I was running the cache at 333Mhz and seemed to run stabily but it it didn't bench any higher than it did with the 250Mhz cache in XBench. Im thinking of increasing my bus multiplier to 2.5 from 2.0. That should yield a PCI...
