I've been running it for a few days now - much faster, no apparent problems.

It's an in-house developed application my development team is working on. Typical web-based stuff - struts, hibernate, Oracle, etc. No 3D whatsoever although that might make it more interesting.

That's the thing - I'm not using any of those libraries.

How would you regenerate the libs exactly? Never messed with JNI before. What did you do to start using java 1.5 from the commandline? Just repoint CurrentJVM ?

Does anyone know the "Proper" way to move over the commandline java to 1.5? The little java preferences tool only affects opening a java applet in a browser, but I need java 1.5 to be the default from the commandline. I tried repointing...

Has apple come out and admitted this, or is this all rumor? Apple tech support was clueless about it. True, some are a tad slower, but just by a hair...and I suspect some of that could be attributed to the different bench runs. It's a very minor decrease for a whole lot of increase though.

Hmm well after running Xbench with and without Quartz 2D Extreme enabled, I'm not sure why Apple decided to disable it (at least on my machine) unless they disabled it on everyone's. At any rate, here are some XBench's with 2D disabled/enabled. Clearly there's a significant performance...

I fired up Quartz Debugger and saw that Quartz Extreme was enabled, but Quartz 2D extreme was disabled. Is there a reason for this? I'm running a 1.67Ghz Powerbook G4, and wasn't sure what enabling this will do for (or to) me. jonathan
