Enderle: How Linux and the Mac can compete against Longhorn

Apple and Linux vendors really need to take this 2-3yrs as a chance to prove what they are made of... It's their best chance in a longtime, IMO.

BBC program on Gates vs. Jobs

It was quite interesting, altho a little funny. Steve was portrayed as quite an honest guy - a Hero. However Bill seemed to be portrayed as a monopolist, and quite the opposite of Steve. Coincidence? To a degree, I can see why they picked Bill, but by the same token, the term 'power' means...

Scheduled Web Browser Software --does it exist ??

...Cronnix is nice, and runs totally in the background, of course. If you can forgive an app running and launch things for you, you might easily of overlooked iCal. It CAN launch files on 'alarms' for you. :D ;) ...and doesn't require Uber Guru skills to setup! :D :P

    Post your desktop !

Fryke, thats got me thinking. Wouldn't be nice to have 'drawers' that sprung out like that, for desktop elements. Personally i hate having ANYTHING on my desktop really, and this would be an ideal solution for me. I know you could use finder windows, with their auto 'move back on screen'...

    PANTHER economics

LOL! Interesting to see the moderator brotherhood! :p ... heh. I agree with some comments, Quicktime Pro upgrade can be quite annoying really, but no more annoying that say the advert stuck to MSN buddylists... Pricing? Well we all know that all Mac OS X releases are touted as new OS's...

Who is using more than 4 GB of RAM ?

Yea Fryke i saw that! Thanks, altho the Cube Enclosure doesn't appeal to me, too much. There are some far nicer Alu' mockups on Spymac. I am not sure how well a 1.4Ghz G4 would fair with the other additions to my cube, by this, i mean the wear and tear to the DC-DC Board. I would like to do it...

Who is using more than 4 GB of RAM ?

HAHA! My point exactly! We all know that my Cube would EASILY out-perform a typical 500MHz PIII / K6-2 :P ...Being a Mac User makes a LOT of sense, in MANY ways! :D

Who is using more than 4 GB of RAM ?

4 Gigs? I can't imagine any HOME USER of this 'day and age' using that much - that HAS TO be overkill for now (@ least)!?? I am fine with my 1.25Gb, It certainly makes up (IMO) for the lack of RAW CPU Power! :P when i tell someone i have a computer - a Mere 500MHz they think its a typo! :P

If you 'Get Info' on any app/doc/ ANYTHING, u can actually select the icon in the 'Get Info' window. From there, u simply copy an icon from a 'Get Info' Window into the target 'Get Info' window. It's really nice and simple. This works for most apps... Some system-wide icons like Finder and trash...

    Isp For Mac Users

I live in England, and have used Pipex for my ADSL. (using an Hermstedt Webshuttle, it that's any help?). Had a great service with them, their tech support via phone and email has been prompt, and there's no capping or complaining, simply a 24/7 unlimited connection! :)

    my first ever mac

Yea, amen to that. I have a G4 Cube (500MHz) but with everything besides the CPU upgraded. Memory is the key tho, i run it with 1.25Gb RAM, and i think its a sweet machine. - This coming from a Windows user, little over a year ago! ;) I too would say, the G3 iMac wouldn't really show you the...
