I just got my iSight from the Apple store!!!

I bought 2, one for me and one for my friend. I must say that these babies are much cooler in person and much much smaller than it seems in the keynote and on Apple's site. It's as long as my index finger and as round as a quarter. WOW! I haven't had a chance to try it out since I picked them...

The G5 and Pro Video Cards!?!?

Stevie mentioned that the G5's come with nVidia and ATI cards, but I'm not sure if many of you caught this, he also mentioned: "or you can install any of ATI or nVidia's Pro cards". Does this now mean that we can purchase 3rd party vendor nVidia cards or any of ATI's? Also, a little...

    Apple just doesn't get it.

Remember this is the FIRST set of G5's. I'm sure you'll be able to get a Dual 2.0Ghz G5 in 12 months time for $1,800 and if not sooner.

Apple Store shows a G5 ad

I think they were hacked, this would explain why apple.com strangely went down yesterday. Why? Because the hackers were planting a seed. I'm not sure if store.apple.com and apple.com are connected in any way.

OS X is not a true UNIX because of POSIX

I'm not sure how this falls into what OS X is? Acronym for Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX, a set of IEEE and ISO standards that define an interface between programs and operating systems. By designing their programs to conform to POSIX, developers have some assurance that their...

OS X is not a true UNIX because of POSIX

This weekend I got to speak to an old friend who knows a great deal about UNIX. We started to talk about OS X and he tells me "OS X is not a true UNIX because OS X doesn't support POSIX". He went on to tell me that OS X is "UNIX like" according to Apple, but he has yet to provide the link as...

    PowerBook G4 1ghz for 1225 dollars!

They actually sometimes advertise in MacAddict and MacWorld magazines. When I bought a G4 for my brother, they listed they could get it for 975 and actually came out to 1050. So it was actually 75 bucks then listed on their site. Shipping was 50 and tax was 60, plus the $250 broker fee and the...
