Today is the first day I tried out the idisk integration in 10.1... and it was terrible. It felt like how horrible it was in OS9. Soooooo sllloooowwwwwww.... in 10.0.4, iDisk was fantastic. Remarkably fast for what it's doing... Doesn't seem like apples servers would be too busy right...

Docklings are dead (apple ones anyway). They've been replaced by the "menu-lings", that have the same functionality but are in the menu bar up by the clock so they dont take up your limited dock space. This is a very good thing. Apps in the dock can actually be controlled from the dock now...

apple > dock > prefs works for me too. I also did a fresh install.

Turning on "remote login" in the sharing preferences should work just fine... unless im missing something here. I know that ssh didnt come with 10.0, but it has been there since 10.0.1... and if you have it turned on in sharing, it should start up automatically... I had even installed my own...

I noticed that too... go into system prefs, then general, and turn the "text smoothing" option (at the very bottom) to 8 rather than 9. The font MS is using in the toolbar is 9 point, so its not being anti aliased. Looks better with it on IMHO.

I have an imac dvse 400 also, with 512 megs of ram... and 10.1 is very nice on it :) There are still plenty of issues (most of them very minor), and I think by the next major release (10.5?), OSX will be in extremely good shape. But as is, you should be quite happy. I can only imagine...
