    Now that folks on this board have received G5 iMacs, any reviews/raves/rants? I'm planning this week to sell off the 1.25Ghz G4 Powermac (oh how I love the styling of that machine, though) and throw in some extra money for the 20" G5 iMac. Can anyone recommend/ward me off? If all goes well...

    The new iMac G5s JUST came out. You're right at the top of the curve right now, so if you want the "best and greatest", now's the time to buy, just after a release/update. Don't expect a new update for quite some time. If you want to keep waiting, perhaps there will be an update in 6...

    Me too. The current one goes on sale tomorrow, just gotta move everything off onto mobile storage. There's no chance the new iMacs will allow a 250GB IDE drive, right? SATA only?

    Is it a firewire camera, or USB? I believe USB cameras aren't supported by iChat without a hack.

    I almost wish that were still true, but I'd say at this stage Win2k, XP, and OS X crash with about the same frequency, which is very rarely (unless you're doing something stupid, like using Windows to run some mission-critical corporate app)
