Considering Apple's reaction in the past to Dock-like programs for other platforms and their litigous nature, I wonder if it wasn't quickly decided that this would NOT be something that Apple would be happy with, and taken down for that reason?

Yeah, to be honest, it's actually the major issue I have against purchasing an Apple notebook (that, and limited finances =). I rarely use the notebook in circumstances where a desktop mouse is feasible, and having to deal with the one-button mouse would drive me insane. (I'm not just used to...

I was in the Apple store today, where several people told me that RAM was *not* user-installable on the Minis, and that Apple required an "authorized service representative" (i.e. the store) to install RAM... Are they just incorrect, or is this the policy??

Wow. 165 now =) I presume that the notebook users are VERY familiar with this setting. I wonder, though, why such a huge (and reproducable) performance difference when I have it set to "Automatic"? It's not temperature-related - I can start out from an idle, cool-as-it-will-go disk and...

I agree 100% that these are silly and reduce the usability of the iPod photo (whose photo "advantages" are already questionable without poor UI). These sound like amateur UI mistakes. Presumably, though, all of these things could be fixed by a software update. Hopefully that'll happen.

Hmmm. The warranty info doesn't actually state this. It does *sort of* imply it, but I've never seen "sort of implied" hold up in a warranty agreement. The "memory...upgrades must be performed by an Apple Authorized Service..." would appear to explicitly state that RAM is not user-upgradable.

Just curious - how did you measure this? Or did you read it somewhere?
